Programme FAQ

Who is this programme for?
Anyone who wants to edit video to a professional standard — whether you are starting from zero or already editing and want to close the gaps that keep you out of paid work. No prior experience is required to apply.
What software do I need?
We work primarily in Adobe Premiere Pro, with After Effects for motion graphics. Both come with Adobe Creative Cloud, and Adobe offers a free trial if you do not have a subscription yet.
Do I need a powerful computer?
A modern laptop or desktop with at least 8GB of RAM will get you through the programme. A dedicated GPU makes rendering faster but is not required to start.
Can I learn at my own pace?
Lessons are pre-recorded and available on demand, so you can watch when it suits you. Assessments and cohort milestones have dates, so the programme moves — but the day-to-day study is yours to schedule.
How long do programme materials stay available?
Materials stay available throughout your time at NISE, including updates and any new lessons added to the curriculum while you are enrolled.
Is the programme recognised?
Participants who complete the programme receive a certification from NISE that you can share on LinkedIn and include in your portfolio, alongside the project work you produced.
Will this help me get freelance clients?
The later modules cover client communication, file delivery and project management — the parts of the job that decide whether a client comes back. You finish with portfolio work to show and a process to run.
What if the programme isn't right for me?
Talk to us. If it turns out not to fit where you are or where you are headed, our admissions team will walk you through the options open to you.
